Clear Lantern Hub is an independent consultancy helping small and mid-size organisations diagnose operational problems, set priorities, and build plans they can execute without outside help.
Every engagement starts with a structured intake: financials, org chart, decision log, and a set of direct interviews. No recommendations ship before that picture is complete.
Janet Harrington runs every engagement. No junior associates, no handoffs mid-project. You talk to the person doing the work.
Outputs are plain documents: a prioritised action list, a one-page strategy map, and a 90-day implementation calendar. No decks with 60 slides.
Seven years in, the practice works with eight to twelve organisations per year. Engagements run from a single four-week diagnostic to multi-quarter advisory relationships. The client mix skews toward founder-led businesses and small nonprofits navigating a transition: a leadership change, a funding shift, a market that moved faster than the org chart did. Janet does not take every enquiry. If the fit is not right, she will say so in the first call and, where she can, point toward someone who is a better match.

Most organisations that book an operational diagnostic have already tried to solve the problem…
Answer three questions about where your organisation is right now. This helps identify the most useful starting point. Not a sales funnel.

Janet Harrington spent eleven years in operations and product strategy at a mid-size logistics firm before going independent in 2019. She led the firm's restructuring through two consecutive quarters of contraction, which is where she developed the diagnostic frameworks she now uses with clients. She holds a graduate certificate in organisational design and has a habit of keeping a paper notebook for every engagement. No exceptions. When she is not working with clients, she runs long distances on weekend mornings and reads more annual reports than most people would consider reasonable.
Most engagements work best with organisations between 10 and 80 people, usually founder-led or in a clear transition. If you are a solo operator or a large enterprise, the fit is probably not right and Janet will say so in the first call. Nonprofits, product companies, and service businesses have all been good fits historically.
It is 30 minutes, no preparation required on your end. Janet will ask about the situation, what you have already tried, and what a good outcome looks like. At the end she will tell you honestly whether she thinks there is a fit and, if so, what engagement type makes sense. There is no sales pressure and no follow-up pitch if you decide not to proceed.
